Woman’s Hospital recently welcomed U.S. Representative Julia Letlow for a press conference to announce an exciting new initiative: the distribution of Newborn Essential Support Toolkits. These toolkits, provided through a public-private partnership between the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Baby2Baby, will support new mothers and their babies by supplying diapers, clothing, and other vital necessities.

The event included a private tour of the hospital for Rep. Letlow, followed by remarks from her, Woman’s Hospital CEO Rene Ragas, and Louisiana State Senator Regina Barrow. Together, they emphasized the importance of perinatal mental health and highlighted the NEST Act, legislation introduced by Rep. Letlow to expand access to newborn supply kits nationwide.

Woman’s Hospital is honored to play a part in this impactful program, furthering its commitment to supporting mothers and families in Louisiana.
