The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank has launched its 2025 Summer Feeding Program—offering free meals for kids and teens 18 and under at 13 locations across rural areas in its 11-parish service region. As part of the SUN Meals To-Go initiative, this program ensures that no child goes hungry during the summer months when school meals are not available.
These summer meal sites are open on specific weekdays from June through August, providing nutritious meals at no cost. The program is open to all children and teens, regardless of income, and helps bridge the food gap for families during the school break.
Meal Pickup Locations Include:
- Audubon Regional Library (St. Helena & Clinton Branches)
- Pointe Coupee Parish Libraries (Innis & Morganza Branches)
- Iberville Parish Libraries (East Iberville, White Castle, Grosse Tete, Maringouin, Rosedale, Bayou Pigeon, Bayou Sorrel)
- Plains Presbyterian Church, Zachary
- Erwinville Community Children’s Organization and Food Pantry
Each site operates on different days and times, so families are encouraged to check the full schedule for details. For example, the Iberville Parish Library, White Castle Branch, serves meals on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., while Plains Presbyterian Church distributes on Tuesdays from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
