On Wednesday, November 13, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., families and community members are invited to gather for Take Back the Night, a special event hosted by FMOL Health | Our Lady of the Lake. Held at 7301 Hennessy Blvd. (formerly the Bone and Joint Clinic), the evening is dedicated to raising awareness of domestic violence, supporting survivors, and inspiring healing within our community.

This powerful event, presented in partnership with IRIS Domestic Violence Center, the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office, the Baton Rouge Police Department, and Family Resource Group Foundation, offers an opportunity for families to come together in compassion and solidarity. Through moving stories of survivorship, Take Back the Night reminds us that recovery and hope are possible—and that no one should have to face violence alone.

Guests can look forward to an evening filled with connection and inspiration, including live music from local church groups, food trucks, and local vendors. The event encourages open conversations about safety, resources, and how the community can work together to end domestic violence and provide support for those affected.

Domestic violence impacts families of all backgrounds, and Take Back the Night serves as both a call to action and a beacon of support. By showing up, listening, and learning, families can play a vital role in creating safer homes and stronger neighborhoods.

Whether you come to hear survivors’ stories, enjoy good food and music, or simply stand in support of those rebuilding their lives, your presence matters. Together, we can help bring light to the darkness of domestic violence.
