Mercy Autism Center and Magnolia Roots Academy Collaborate to Redefine Early Learning and Therapy

In a Louisiana first, Mercy Autism Center and Magnolia Roots Academy have teamed up to create a coordinated model that blends therapy and education for children with developmental differences. By uniting ABA, speech, occupational, and feeding therapies with inclusive, sensory-aware classrooms, families receive individualized, whole-child support that fosters confidence, curiosity, and academic readiness.

Mercy + Magnolia therapy and education

In a first-of-its-kind partnership in Louisiana, Mercy Autism Center and Magnolia Roots Academy are joining forces to create a model that seamlessly blends therapy and education for children with developmental differences. This collaboration represents a shared commitment to individualized care, inclusivity, and whole-child development.

Families participating in both programs can expect a journey tailored to their child’s unique needs. Each learner’s schedule and therapy plan is carefully designed in collaboration between Mercy Autism Center’s clinical team and Magnolia Roots’ educational staff. Some children may start with only a few hours per week at Magnolia Roots, gradually increasing as their tolerance and readiness grow. Others may integrate more extensive support from the start. While the exact pathway varies for every child, the guiding principle is consistent: provide a nurturing environment where children are seen, understood, and celebrated.

This partnership goes beyond simply adding services. It unites ABA therapy, speech, occupational, and feeding therapies with an inclusive, sensory-aware classroom setting. By situating therapy and learning under one coordinated roof, families spend less time commuting and more time supporting their child’s growth. Children benefit from predictable routines, gentle transitions, visual supports, and strength-based teaching, all designed to foster confidence, curiosity, and academic readiness.

Early families have already seen the impact. Children who once struggled with transitions or social engagement are now interacting confidently with peers, navigating routines independently, and discovering new academic interests, all within a supportive and inclusive community.

While the program is currently limited to select families as the model is refined, its leaders hope it will serve as a blueprint for future collaborations across the state. Together, Mercy Autism Center and Magnolia Roots Academy are not just expanding access to services, they are building a village of support that ensures every child has the opportunity to thrive.
