Kite Fest BR 2025: A Joyful Day of Community, Kites, and Connection

Kite Fest BR 2025 was a special and impactful day for our community. On Saturday, March 29, over 400 people gathered at Hartley/Vey Park to fly kites, enjoy food from local vendors, and connect with neighbors, partners, and friends.

The Gardere Initiative partnered with BREC to host this free, family-friendly event. The weather was beautiful, the park was full of energy, and kids spent the day running, playing, and making memories. All proceeds from Kite Fest BR support the Gardere Initiative’s year-round programs, including after-school care, youth development, job training, and support for families in the Gardere neighborhood.
