More than 100 middle and high school students from across the Baton Rouge area concluded a week of discovery, innovation, and hands-on learning at Southern University and A&M College’s 2025 Carbon STEM Camp. Throughout the week, students participated in a series of immersive activities focused on carbon dioxide (CO₂) and its role in building a lower-carbon future. They gained practical experience in environmental science, public speaking, and team collaboration. Campers also explored the science of carbon capture and storage (CCS), a vital technology in the fight against climate change, and benefited from direct interaction with STEM professionals who offered insight, inspiration, and mentorship.
