St. Joseph’s Academy recently celebrated World Down Syndrome Day. The date 3/21 signifies Down Syndrome in that it is a genetic condition which creates a third copy of chromosome 21. Down Syndrome affects 1 in 700 children in the country each year. Though the cognition causes developmental and cognitive delays, those with Down Syndrome can do anything we can do. For World Down Syndrome Day at SJA, several students from St. Lillian Academy visited campus. Special guests included Olivia Beal, Mary Lynn Crow, Pete Knapp, Wiley Mittendorf, Willa Moran, Emma Grace Pizer, and Wade Williams.
