What is the school’s mission and philosophy? The Brighton School prepares students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences to succeed. We believe all students can learn and reach their full potential when given the proper tools.

How does the school differentiate itself from other private schools in the area? Brighton is dedicated to the education and development of the whole child, using a four-pronged approach to learning which includes academics, language therapy, social-emotional development, and executive function development.

What are the core values that guide the school community? All students hold responsibility in cultivating our school community of moral and ethical character. They are guided to have truthful words, gracious actions, charitable thoughts, noble character, and virtuous habits.

Are there advanced placement, honors programs, or dual enrollment classes available? Brighton offers Honors courses in all core content classes to students in 9th through 12th grade.  Our Honors classes delve more deeply into course content and require additional course assignments.

What extracurricular activities and clubs are available? Brighton athletics offers basketball, volleyball, and cross country to middle school and high school students. A variety of clubs are also available, including yearbook, choir, digital arts, Beta, and more.

How does the school foster a sense of community among students? Students experience a strong sense of belonging through small class sizes and shared experiences of overcoming learning challenges. Sports, clubs, morning meeting, and advisory groups also strengthen our Brighton family.

How can parents get involved in the school community? The Brighton Parent Organization and Brighton Men’s Club are two ways for parents to get involved. These organizations support the school in many capacities including planning events and volunteering.
