Established in 1972, The Brighton School helps K-12 students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences to succeed. Brighton students come from an eleven-parish area and represent diverse racial and socio-economic backgrounds. Our faculty is comprised of highly trained, committed educators that understand the needs of students who learn differently. Many members of our staff are Certified Academic Language Therapists (CALT) and Certified Academic Language Practitioners (CALP). Brighton understands the complex nature of working with students who learn differently by providing an academic experience that is both fluid and flexible. We move our students as fast as we can, but as slow as they need and believe all children can learn when given the proper tools. Evidenced-based programming, multi-sensory instruction, and low teacher-pupil ratio enable students to achieve their highest level of success through 1) Academic Instruction 2) Language Therapy 3) Social-Emotional Learning and 4) Executive Function Development. Brighton graduates receive a Louisiana state-certified high school diploma enabling them to attend a college or technical school, join the military or go directly into the workforce. For over five decades, The Brighton School has provided a quality educational experience for students with learning differences.
