Local nonprofit Redstick C.A.R.E.S. hosted their 1st Annual Crawfish Cookoff on April 28 from 2:00-5:00. Eight boilers served hot and tasty crawfish to the crowd while Baton Rouge Music Studio provided live entertainment. The event was a delicious success with over 150 attendees enjoying crawfish and a variety of mix-ins including the old favs like corn and potatoes and new favorites such as peanuts! Other mix-ins included artichokes, edamame, carrots, hot dogs, pineapple, and cauliflower. The crowd danced, ate, and voted for their favorite pot. Three trophies were awarded: Fan Favorite, Cares Team Favorite, and Overall Best! Funds raised go directly to fund programs for people with special needs at Redstick C.A.R.E.S.
