Getting those fresh fruits and veggies on a Saturday is often a highlight of our weekend. Now, you can experience that delight throughout the week with the reopening of Red Stick Farmers Market’s Tuesday and Wednesday markets.
According to a statement from BREADA, they are set to begin operating four weekly markets in different areas of the city. That’s four opportunities to fill your pantry with the goods!
Starting Tuesday, April 11, the Red Stick Farmers Market will host a group of farmers and food artisans every Tuesday from 3-6 p.m. at the Main Library on Goodwood Boulevard. Guests can shop for local fruits and vegetables, fresh breads, garden plants, prepared foods, jams, and jellies while visiting the library or BREC’s Independence Community Park and Botanic Gardens. Additionally, Iverstine Farms Butcher will be onsite at the Tuesday Market serving both hot and take-home dinners made with local ingredients.
On Wednesday, April 19, Red Stick Farmers Market will reopen its Wednesday Mobile Market, which operates from 9 a.m.-noon at ExxonMobil YMCA. The weekly Wednesday market provides opportunities for healthy food and fitness in one location.
The Saturday market is from 8 a.m.-noon at the corner of 5th St and Main St, downtown Baton Rouge, and the Thursday market is from 8 a.m.-noon at Pennington Biomedical Research Center.
