In April 2023, Jordan and Lisa Tabor transformed unimaginable grief into life-saving purpose. Just 15 days after the loss of their beloved son Owen—a cherished friend, athlete, and student-they founded the Rain Will Bring Flowers Foundation, dedicated to preventing youth suicide across Louisiana.

Through the Prevention in Every Parish initiative and AFSP’s It’s Real: Teens and Mental Health program-delivered in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention —we’ve reached over 66,000 students, parents, and educators across 22 parishes, equipping them to recognize warning signs and connect struggling peers with trusted adults.

And we’re just getting started.

Our signature event, Planting Seeds of Hope, is hosted in partnership with LSU Athletics and Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health, bringing communities together to raise awareness and foster resilience.

With generous support from the Joe Burrow Foundation, we’re helping schools launch student-led mental health programs through targeted grants.

This year, Rain Will Bring Flowers awarded its first collegiate scholarship, expanding access to behavioral health resources for young adults.
