Construction has begun for the new South Branch Library. Construction will take an estimated 14 months, and a total of $11.632 million is budgeted for the project. “We are very pleased construction of the new South Branch Library has gotten off to a solid start,” says Interim Library Co-Director Patricia Husband. “The investment in this project will provide world-class resources and amenities for patrons.” Some of those amenities include dedicated spaces for children, books and periodicals for all ages, 31 public computers, a laptop bar, 10 laptops for free computer classes, study rooms, a conference room, a bike repair station, and a green space, among others.
