Family Resource Group Foundation is set to host the grand opening of its newest Literacy and Learning Lab at the State Library of Louisiana on Tuesday, August 19. This latest addition is designed to provide residents with enhanced educational opportunities and support lifelong learning.

The innovative space will offer students access to cutting-edge technology, educational resources, and hands-on programs aimed at fostering curiosity and academic growth. By creating an engaging and interactive environment, the lab seeks to inspire learners of all ages to explore new ideas, develop skills, and cultivate a love of reading and learning.

This new location marks the foundation’s third Literacy and Learning Lab in the Baton Rouge area, joining existing facilities at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport and in Donaldsonville. Each location has been strategically developed to serve the community and expand access to high-quality educational resources for children and families throughout the region.

The project is a reflection of the community’s commitment to improving literacy rates and preparing Louisiana residents for future success. By providing these vital resources, the foundation aims to equip students with the tools they need to thrive academically and beyond.

The grand opening event is scheduled for 3 p.m. at 701 N. 4th St., Baton Rouge, and will celebrate the foundation’s continued efforts to make education accessible and engaging. Community members, educators, and families are invited to explore the lab and learn more about the programs and resources available.

With the launch of this new Literacy and Learning Lab, Family Resource Group Foundation reinforces its mission to strengthen educational opportunities, promote lifelong learning, and support the next generation of Louisiana leaders.

Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser and State Librarian Meg Placke recently visited Louisiana First to discuss the upcoming lab and opening.
