The Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM), in collaboration with Ellemnop.Art, has announced its 2026 Student Art Exhibition, Blueprints of Culture: Architecture and Design That Shapes Louisiana. The exhibition will be presented in LASM’s STEAM Gallery and is open to students across Louisiana in grades 6–12 through a statewide Call for Art Submissions.
The 2026 theme invites students to explore how Louisiana’s architecture and design influence the state’s cultural identity and community life. From historic buildings and interior spaces to modern urban planning and sustainable, eco-friendly systems, young artists are encouraged to reflect on how the built environment shapes everyday experiences. The exhibition challenges students to consider the past, present, and future of Louisiana’s unique architectural “gumbo.”

Selected works will be professionally exhibited in LASM’s STEAM Gallery from April 25, 2026, through April 2027. This yearlong display offers student artists a rare opportunity to showcase their creativity and technical skill in a museum setting. A closing reception in 2027 will celebrate participating students and their contributions.
The STEAM Gallery highlights student work at the intersection of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics, emphasizing interdisciplinary thinking and real-world connections.
Artwork will be selected through a juried review process led by LASM and Ellemnop.Art. Submissions will be evaluated for creativity, craftsmanship, and relevance to the exhibition theme.
The student submission deadline is March 31, 2026. Artwork must be hang-ready and include the artist’s name, title, year of creation, and a brief artist statement.
Students and educators can find submission details and the Call for Art form at ellemnop.art/steamgallery.
