Glasgow Middle School recently participated in a large print book study conducted by Project Tomorrow®, a reputable education nonprofit, on behalf of Thorndike Press. The study revealed that large print books significantly enhance reading skills, comprehension, and confidence in readers of all ages and abilities. Students reported that large print minimizes distractions and improves focus, helping them engage more deeply with the stories. Erin Anding, school librarian and technology facilitator at East Baton Rouge Parish Public Schools, was surprised by the effect of large print on some reluctant readers during the study. “I did a double take, because I was surprised that certain students were volunteering to read out loud,” she says.
