All Louisiana students will soon be required to take a personal finance course before graduating high school, according to a bill Governor John Bel Edwards signed. The students will have to complete the course in order to graduate and receive TOPS. It will be a year-long elective course, and local school boards will decide how it will be implemented in each district. Louisiana is now the 22nd state in the United States to guarantee a personal finance course for all high school students.
