Knock Knock Children’s Museum is SO empty without you there. Hopefully, all that will change very soon.

It’s hard to believe our 18 Learning Zones haven’t had any little ones playing, climbing, imagining, exploring or creating in more than two months, but the Knock Knock Staff has been hard at work making sure “playing with purpose” is still possible right in your own home.

Soon after closing, our talented Knock Knock staff rolled out our innovative digital series called Knock Knock At Your Door. It takes all the excitement of being at the museum and turns it into short videos that kids and grown-ups can do at home. In all, we have produced more than 55 original videos. They range from simple science experiments to art lessons to making and tinkering projects, and we even have a special Fitness Friday edition to give families fun ideas to help them keep fit. These videos are released Monday through Friday at 3 pm. They are archived on our Parent Resource Guide so that you can watch them anytime. Our Parent Resource Guide also has information to keep parents and children engaged in meaningful play now and in the future.

Along with our daily video series, Knock Knock is offering weekly virtual mini-camps called Knock Knock at Your Door LIVE! These 30-minute sessions are completely interactive and allow children ages 4-9 to experience fun activities just like they would if they were at the museum. It’s free for members and only $5 for non-members. To register, click here or visit knockknockmuseum.org/camps.

And be on the lookout for our brand-new STEM activity kits that will be available soon.

Knock Knock Children’s Museum is YOUR museum. Whether we are with you physically at the museum or virtually through the power of technology, our mission—to be a community spark for engaging, playful learning that inspires and supports lifelong learning—is our number one focus.

This has been a trying time for everyone, but we have been working tirelessly with experts at all levels—local, regional, national, and even global—to develop the best, most comprehensive, re-opening plan possible. Our singular focus is the safety of all visitors, while still providing children with fun, interactive learning experiences in our 18 Learning Zones.

Thanks to Baton Rouge Parents Magazine, Knock Knock now has a quick and easy way for you to find out about everything going on at Knock Knock, from all of our digital offerings to the latest information surrounding our reopening.
