For hurricane season, Louisiana’s Department of Education (LDOE) recently released its first hurricane preparedness playbook for schools. The playbook has resources, best practices, and guidance from experts to help schools better prepare for students. These comprehensive recommendations focus on before, during, and after a hurricane, and provide the necessary tools to protect students, staff, and facilities. The State Superintendent, Dr. Cade Brumley, held a press conference to launch these new resources. This was made possible by the LDOE’s Protect Louisiana Schools Hurricane Preparedness Commission (PLSHPC) and partnership with AT&T.
