When young people experience a mental health crisis, every second counts. Southeast Community Health Systems’ Youth Mobile Crisis Program is here to make sure families never face that moment alone.

Here’s how the program is making a difference

1. We come to youth anywhere anytime
Our trained crisis responders are available to meet with youth and their families wherever they are—at home, school, or another community location 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

2. We serve youth 20 and under
This service is available for children, teens, and young adults up to age 20 who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis.

3. A Safe Space for Dialogue
We create a non-judgmental, confidential environment where young people can openly express their feelings and concerns. Our goal is to de-escalate the situation and help them feel heard and understood.

4. Connecting Families to Resource
Crisis isn’t just a moment; it’s often a sign of underlying issues. We connect families with long-term mental health services and community resources, ensuring they have a sustainable support system beyond the immediate crisis.

“We have already tripled our expected number of crises calls in just the first two months,” said Ben Larisey, Director of Behavioral Health. “That tells us families are looking for real-time compassionate support and we are ready to meet that need.”

5. Community-Centered Care
A DCFS worker shared, “Thank you all so much for the efforts you made that day. The child has made so much progress, and you would not believe that is the same child you met that day. They are doing well.”

“Our community’s children deserve a chance to heal without disruption to their lives,” said Dr. Alecia Cyprian, CEO of Southeast Community Health Systems. “That is what this program delivers every day.”
