Students and faculty members from Catholic High School, St. Joseph’s Academy, and Episcopal School of Baton Rouge have once again partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge as a part of the annual build sponsored by the Albemarle Foundation. Students have been working hard on the project–swinging hammers, hauling lumber, painting, and sawing–all in order to give back to their communities. The Habitat Youth Build allows student volunteers to take part in nearly every aspect of the construction process, all while being led by skilled crew members. Through the project, students gain valuable skills, including teamwork and woodwork, and they learn first-hand that everyone deserves a decent place to live and a place to raise a family. The schools have partnered with Habit on the Youth Build since 2001.
