Recently, Governor Jeff Landry warmly welcomed the Ortego family from the Gardere Community Christian School to his opening speech of the 2024 Legislature. During his speech, he commended the school’s outstanding achievements, noting that they surpassed the district average by 30 percent and scored 300 percent higher than the closest school options. Gardere Community Christian School is a PreK3-5th grade school located in the heart of the Gardere neighborhood. Its mission is to provide a high-quality, Christian education to families living in the community, no matter their income level.
