Gov. John Bel Edwards and EBR Schools Superintendent Dr. Sito Narcisse helped launch Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Louisiana statewide expansion at Crestworth Elementary School. The initiative’s goal is to inspire a love for reading by offering free, age-appropriate books to children ages zero to five years. At the event, the governor read from Parton’s book, Coat of Many Colors. Students received gift bags and enjoyed a snowball celebration featuring LSU’s Mike the Tiger, Southern University’s Lacumba and cheerleaders, and PBS’s Super Why.
