The Dunham Tigers football team captured the Division III Select State Championship on Thursday, December 12, 2025, defeating Calvary Baptist 34-17 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. This marks the Dunham Tiger’s first state title since 2004 and only the second in the school’s history.
Dunham was the only Baton Rouge team to reach a state title game this season. In recognition of the victory, East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor-President Sid Edwards proclaimed Monday, December 15, as “The Dunham School Day.” The school celebrated with a campus-wide Champions Celebration at 9:30 a.m. in the competition gym.
Quarterback Elijah Haven led the Dunham Tigers with a standout performance, totaling 410 yards of offense and earning Outstanding Player honors. Haven also broke Louisiana’s all-time single-season passing touchdowns record with his 62nd touchdown pass and surpassed the state career record with 180 touchdowns. The junior, ranked as the No. 1 high school recruit in the class of 2027, has also been named Louisiana’s Gatorade Player of the Year.
Dunham Athletic Director Neil Weiner, who has led the football program for 12 years, celebrated the team’s remarkable achievements, which now include seven district championships, two state runner-up finishes, and the 2025 state championship.
Founded in 1981, The Dunham School serves more than 910 students from PK2-12. Known for its college preparatory program grounded in biblical truth, Dunham is recognized as a leader in Christian education and one of the most technologically advanced private schools in the nation. The football championship adds another milestone to the school’s history of excellence, inspiring students, faculty, and the Baton Rouge community.
