WHAT IS YOUR EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY?
We believe children learn best through hands-on experiences; therefore, we strive to support children’s growth through developmentally appropriate learning opportunities. We view each child as a unique, precious child of God and it is our privilege to carry out Christ’s command to care for the youngest of His Kingdom in partnership with their parents.
WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE LEVELS OF YOUR TEACHERS AND STAFF?
We employ early childhood educators who have a passion for instilling a lifelong love of learning in every child. Our staff have received training in early childhood education, and many have years of experience working in the field.
HOW DO YOU COMMUNICATE WITH PARENTS ABOUT THEIR CHILD’S PROGRESS AND DAILY EXPERIENCES?
Parents should expect a partner in their child’s development. We strive to communicate in multiple ways to meet the needs of each family. Teachers and parents speak at pick up and drop off regarding their child’s day. The administration supports families with an open-door policy.
WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH TO HANDLING CHALLENGING BEHAVIORS OR CONFLICTS AMONG CHILDREN?
We recognize that our roles as teachers allow us to encourage core values of kindness, honesty, and love in every child. We desire to help children learn self-regulation and forgiveness and view these as expressions of Christian faith development. We communicate directly with parents and partner with them to find the best approach to their children’s behavioral challenges. While we see conflict among peers as a natural part of growth, we directly address incidents with the parents of all students involved and take corrective measures in accordance with our Christian values as well as each family’s values.
WHAT HEALTH AND SAFETY MEASURES DO YOU HAVE IN PLACE, AND HOW DO YOU RESPOND TO EMERGENCIES?
We follow all health and safety requirements of the State of Louisiana. Our staff members are trained in first aid and CPR and we have an AED on site. If an accident or injury occurs, we provide first aid and communicate with parents via telephone and/or an injury report. We also regularly participate in fire and safety drills so our children are aware of what to do in the event of an emergency.
