Great Hearts Harveston

Great Hearts Harveston opened its doors to the Baton Rouge community in the fall of 2023 as the first Great Hearts academy in the Louisiana region. Our Harveston family has gradually grown from serving grades K-7 in our first year to serving grades K-10 in the 2026-2027 school year. We will continue adding one grade level each year until we grow into a K–12 academy by 2028. As a classical academy, we develop students into wise and virtuous individuals who seek what is true, good, and beautiful. Through this approach, students learn to think deeply, ask meaningful questions, and live fully as thoughtful, compassionate people. With rich, challenging academics, screen-free classrooms, and daily immersion in every subject, students experience a seamless journey that deepens both knowledge and character year after year. In the classroom, our highly qualified teachers guide students through Socratic discussion, a teaching method that involves asking questions rather than simply relaying information. Literature, history, mathematics, science, and the fine arts are taught in dialogue with the great ideas of Western tradition, awakening wonder and cultivating disciplined, joyful minds.
