Discover the Magic of Camp Marydale: Adventure, Equine, Year Round Camping
Nestled on 400 picturesque acres just 45 miles north of Baton Rouge, Camp Marydale offers Girl Scouts an unforgettable outdoor adventure near the rolling hills of St. Francisville, Louisiana.
Surrounded by natural beauty and centered around a pristine lake, Marydale is the perfect setting for girls to unplug, explore, and grow in confidence while creating lifelong memories with friends.
Campers at Marydale can enjoy an exciting mix of classic camp activities and skill-building experiences, including horseback riding, archery, canoeing, hiking scenic trails, swimming, and tackling the low-ropes challenge course.
Girls stay in comfortable cabins or dormitory-style buildings, with access to modern amenities such as hot and cold showers across six residential units. The camp also features a multi-purpose dining hall, large activity center, craft hut, and an on-site infirmary, everything needed for a safe and enriching camp experience.
Camp Marydale is proudly home to a herd of more than 25 horses, making it a special destination for equestrian experiences. Campers learn horsemanship skills in riding arenas and along wooded trails that wind throughout the property. Instruction is led by dedicated Wranglers who are older Girl Scouts who volunteer their time and serve as inspiring role models while sharing their love of horses and leadership.
Year-Round Opportunities for Troops and Campers From September through May, Camp Marydale is available for Girl Scout troop and group use, offering the ideal space for campouts, retreats, and outdoor programming. During June and July, the camp comes alive with resident camp sessions offering adventure, friendship, and confidence building.
Whether attending resident camp or visiting with a troop, Camp Marydale invites every Girl Scouts and the community to discover new strengths, build leadership skills, and experience the joy of the outdoors.
