Planning a date night for you and your special someone usually consists of hiring a babysitter, picking a restaurant or other activity to do, and then the task of finding something to wear. It could be a lot of finagling schedules to make sure it all goes off without a hitch, but it’s all worth it when it comes to spending time with your one and only.

But now with the stay-at-home order in place, having date night away from the little ones is a bit harder. We’re here to tell you that you don’t have to worry about it, though. You can still have the perfect date night with your better half, right from the comfort of your own home. After you put the kiddos to bed, try these stay-at-home date night ideas.

Have a Drink
Going out for a drink with your beau right now isn’t possible, but you can bring the bar to your home and still have a fancy drink together. Not the best at mixing drinks? Visit MakeMeACocktail.com, select all of the wines, spirits, mixers, and foods you have in your house, and click the “Make Me a Cocktail” button to receive easy-to-follow recipes using the items you have on hand. You can make it even more exciting by having a tasting and trying them all.

Paint By Video
Let the artists be your guide as you create your own masterpieces together. Pull out any art supplies you may have, head to YouTube.com and find a video with step-by-step instructions for a fun painting to recreate. Can’t find one you like? During this time, Painting and Pinot is offering free art classes on Wednesdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. If those times aren’t ideal, they save them all for future use!

Make a Pizza
We all love pizza, and making them with love just makes them that much more delicious. Rotolo’s Pizzeria has created their very own Make-Your-Own Rotolo’s Pizza Kits that can be picked up at the store or at Rouses Markets. Pick up a kit (or have it delivered to your door!) and set up shop in the kitchen to have your very own pizza party. Work as a team to create the pizza of your dreams.

Play Board Games
Board games never go out of style. They’re fun and offer a nostalgia feel for our younger days. Hit up the game closet and play Monopoly, Sorry, Twister, Scrabble, or Jenga. Don’t forget the card games and the puzzles, too. Uno, Rummy, Go Fish, and Poker are some of our favorites.

Watch a Movie
Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBO Go, iTunes, the gang’s all here! There are so many subscription services for you to join that you could watch a new movie every two hours, if you wanted. Have a movie marathon with your favorite viewing partner. Each night, pick a genre to check out. Want to watch scary movies? Westerns? Classics? Oscar favorites? You can do it all and still get some special time with your favorite someone.

Frost it Up
Treat your sweet tooth with the Smallcakes Baton Rouge’s Cupcake Decorating Box. Perhaps you’re not the best baker, but don’t worry! Smallcakes has done the hard part by baking the cupcakes for you. Order a box for you and your sweetie to decorate. Each box contains six cupcakes to decorate, two bags of frosting, and assorted sprinkles. While they’re meant for the kiddos, it doesn’t mean you can’t tap into your playful side and try them too! If you’re more of the hands-on type, bake some cupcakes together or do your best to recreate your wedding cake!

Roast Marshmallows
Plan a night of marshmallow roasting and stargazing. While you’ll only be in your backyard, you can at least pretend you’re camping in an incredible nearby park. Haven’t had dinner yet? Add some hotdogs to your skewers for some dinner to go with your dessert.

We aren’t sure how long this stay-at-home order will last, but at least having these ideas in your back pocket will make for some fun, memorable times that will help take your mind off of everything going on in the world.
