Louisiana Art & Science Museum (LASM) invites guests to sip, savor, and socialize at A Most Delightful Teatime, a Bridgerton– and Jane Austen-inspired event celebrating the 250th birthday of the beloved author. Taking place on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., this adults-only tea party will be held on LASM’s scenic riverfront balcony, offering stunning views of the Mississippi River.
This charming affair promises an immersive Regency-era experience filled with elegant ambiance and literary flair. Guests are welcome—but not required—to dress in Regency-inspired attire as they enjoy the refined traditions of a classic English tea. Seating is limited to just 36 guests, ensuring an intimate and unforgettable gathering.
Catering will be provided by The Banten House Tea Room, known for its exquisite private tea events and curated menus. Attendees will enjoy three premium teas, delicate finger sandwiches, fresh fruit, traditional scones with lemon curd and Devonshire cream, and an array of decadent desserts. Vintage teacups, fine linens, and attentive service will complete the elegant tablescape.
“This event offers an opportunity to step into the world of Jane Austen and experience the art of refined social gathering,” says Dr. Karen Soniat, President & Executive Director of LASM. “We are thrilled to share this literary celebration with our community.”
Individual tickets are $50, or reserve a full table for six at $250. Advance reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made at tinyurl.com/LASMTeatime.
