Brandon Foreman of Family Resource Group, Inc. and Baton Rouge Parents Magazine recently joined 11-year-old interviewer Kate on her growing YouTube series, Investigate with Kate. In the heartwarming and insightful interview, Brandon shared what it’s like to run one of Baton Rouge’s most trusted parenting publications, while fielding Kate’s signature question: “How would you describe your job using an 80’s song title?”
This wasn’t Kate’s first interview, or even her 10th. Kate has completed over 30 interviews! She launched the project at just nine years old to get to know the amazing people who live and work in her community. Now 11, she’s an aspiring actress and journalist who’s already performed in The Polar Express in New Orleans and recently starred in a Wisconsin law firm commercial.
Kate’s passion for storytelling shines through in every interview, and her love for 80’s music adds a fun and nostalgic twist. Her creative, kid-led platform highlights the importance of listening to young voices and lifting up local leaders.
Brandon’s episode offers a behind-the-scenes look at Baton Rouge Parents Magazine, the people behind it, and the mission to connect families to valuable resources. It’s also a reminder of how local media and fresh perspectives—like Kate’s—can come together to create something truly special.
