Out with the old, in with the new! The Baton Rouge African-American History Museum was founded in 2001 and curated for 18 years by the late Sadie Roberts-Joseph. It is notably Baton Rouge’s only museum dedicated to African and African American history. This month, the museum is renovating and moving to 805 St. Louis Street. The move is in part funded by a benefit concert, aptly named “Legacies to Afrofutures” that was held last month and cohosted by The Walls Project. Once reopened, the museum will have plenty of room to showcase its important collection of artifacts. braamuseum.org
