Due to a generous donation from the Albertsons Companies Foundation, The Salvation Army of Baton Rouge is now able to help assist local communities during the upcoming hurricane season and beyond. The food and drug retailer funded a new emergency response vehicle to help the organization deal efficiently and effectively with the natural disasters that often occur in the Gulf region. Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome states, “Our potential is elevated when we have strong community partnerships like those Baton Rouge has with The Salvation Army and Albertsons.” This new Recovery Unit will provide healing and hope to communities impacted by natural disasters such as floods and hurricanes. ■ southernusa.salvationarmy.org
