When you connect a Lightning or USB-C cable or an accessory to your iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, or later, your iPhone can now warn you if there’s liquid in the connector. If you see one of these liquid-detection alerts, your iPhone has detected liquid in the Lightning or USB-C connecter, or on the cable or accessory. If you know your device is wet and you need to dry it, tap your phone gently against your hand with the connector facing down to remove excess liquid. After at least 30 minutes, try charging your device with a Lightning or USB-C cable, or connecting an accessory. Remember, never insert a foreign object into your iPhone charging port, and don’t place your phone in rice. ■ apple.com
