At the Jimmy Williams Memorial Classic, Woodlawn High School and Istrouma went head to head, and Woodlawn High won the 7-on-7 tournament. The tournament was in honor of Jimmy Ray Williams Jr., a former Episcopal High School star and NFL player who died last year. Woodlawn High took home $1,500 for its football program, and Istrouma earned $1,000. The tournament had six teams in total, including another EBR school, Scotlandville. Chandra, Jimmy’s widow, was at the tournament, and after the game, thanked and congratulated both teams.
