Congratulations to Parkview’s valedictorian, Mallory Dyer! Mallory’s (left) dedication, hard work, and perseverance culminated in her recognition as valedictorian of the Parkview Baptist High School Class of 2020. Mallory was active in many clubs and organizations, including Mu Alpha Theta, Key Club, Latin Club, Tri-M Music Honors Society, and National Honors Society. She served as Band Librarian, Junior Marshall, and a Diamond Girl for the Varsity Baseball team. Mallory received the following awards: Best Overall Woodwind (Junior year), Legacy Award (Band Senior year), highest grade in Bible III (Junior year), awarded Magna Cum Laude in National Latin Exams for both Latin I and Latin II, 9th grade second highest GPA, highest grade in Geometry Honors (Freshman year), Most Intelligent superlative, and Principal’s List 4.0 award, all four years.
Mallory is the daughter of Bryant and Rhonda Dyer and the younger sister of Ashlyn Dyer. She will attend LSU in the fall and study Pre-Med. We are so proud of Mallory and wish her the best!
Also, congratulations to Parkview’s salutatorian, McKinley Sherman! McKinley’s (right) dedication, hard work, and perseverance led her to receive one of Parkview Baptist High School’s top awards. McKinley was involved a wide variety of clubs and organizations, including Varsity Tennis Team for five years (went to district four years & state tennis tournament four years), Soccer Manager (Senior year), Volleyball (Freshman year), Student Ambassador (four years), Mu Alpha Theta Club, National Honors Society, and Senior Beta Club. She received the following awards during her high school career: AP Scholar, Prudhomme Service/Leadership Scholarship (Sophomore year), 2018-19 Outstanding Academic Achievement in AP Biology, 2017-18 Outstanding Academic Achievement in Bible II, Placed 2nd in Southern Baptist Association of Christian Schools Scholastic Achievement for Biology, Junior Marshall, Nominated for the Brother Bob Scholarship (Freshman Year), and made 4.0 Principal’s List each year.
McKinley is the daughter of Ray and Angie Sherman and the big sister of Jack Sherman (PBS Class of 2024). She will attend Louisiana Tech in the fall and will study Chemical Engineering. We are so proud of McKinley and wish her the best!
