Jalen Simpson is a man with a plan–seriously. He knows exactly what he wants to do when he gets older, and it all starts with attending one of his top picks for college. And once he graduates, he hopes to become an electrical engineer because he has
a love for electronics, making things, and challenges.
Jalen is a member of JROTC at Lee Magnet High School, and he hopes to compete in the upcoming The Iron Cadet competition. “JROTC is an experience. I enjoy it because it teaches you discipline and how to be a good person,” says Jalen.
But that’s not all. He also likes to tap into his creative side through drawing and painting. If he sees something, he typically wants to draw it, whether it’s nature or the Tasmanian Devil. His favorite music is classical music, specifically Mozart and Beethoven.
He is the oldest of five and takes his big brother role seriously. He’s always there to help his younger siblings with all of their problems and answer all of their questions–even if they seem to have a lot of them.
Jalen’s personality can easily be summed up in one word: happy. When you meet Jalen, the first thing he wants you to know about him is that if you ever need a friend, he’s there. Whether he’s out volunteering with his church or extending a hand to someone in need of a friend, Jalen’s infectious attitude about life makes him one amazing kid.
