Between being an active member of the National Honor Society, National Beta Club, Key Club, International Club, and National League of Junior Cotillion’s Baton Rouge Chapter President, one can only wonder how Anna Matherne, a senior at Christian Life Academy, manages to keep such a busy schedule and still find time to be a kid.

But, she does, and Anna credits her excellent organizational skills and her mom for instilling in her the importance of utilizing free moments to help her stay on top of things.

Anna is also a varsity cheerleader and loves leading the school in cheering on the teams, and she takes her role very seriously. “When I just started at the school, I looked up to the cheerleaders, and now, I know that the students just coming in are looking up to us as well so I do my best to be a good role model for them,” she shares.

In the fall, Anna will be attending Louisiana College, and in order to help with expenses, Anna started her own business where she makes custom embroidery and vinyl products for friends and family. Her favorite items she has made so far? Anything supporting the Wildcats!

While Anna’s incredible accomplishments are hard to forget, it’s her infectious smile that leaves an everlasting impression. “No matter what circumstances I am in, I always smile. Even if I have a bad morning, I don’t let it ruin the entire day for me because I know that my smile could help change someone else’s mood, too,” Anna shares.

With courage, confidence, and a smile, Anna tackles every challenge thrown her way with ease, so it’s no surprise that she is truly one amazing kid.
