Combine a serious love of sports with a dream of being an entertainer and you’ve got Darryan
Saul, a 17-year-old world changer. This young man is not only an athlete and an aspiring actor, but also strives to be a great role model to those younger than him. He has big dreams of stardom so he can impact others for good.
The acting bug first bit Darryan when he was just a six-year-old boy watching High
School Musical. After watching and rewatching, Darryan would pretend to be Zac Efron’s character, Troy, in his room. He began a theater program in elementary school that nurtured his acting dream and even performed in The Nutcracker. In addition to acting, Darryan delights in dance and has idolized Michael Jackson for years. “I love music, dancing, acting. Anything with entertainment is me,” Darryan says. In fact, he has just wrapped filming an independent film called Against the Mask, produced by Love Alive Church.
Although Darryan enjoys entertaining, his calling is to teach and help younger kids. He participates in his youth group and even volunteers as a teacher for children’s church at Hopeful Triumph Baptist Church in Darrow. He discovered this calling while working at a daycare center. His goal is to be a good influence to all of the youngsters in his life, which includes his sweet six-year-old sister.
Darryan is looking forward to his senior year so he can pursue his passions for sports and drama. He has his sights set on playing football, baseball, and any dramatic roles he can. His hopes for the future are to major in athletic training and minor in theater once he begins college. This unique combination of performer, teacher, and athlete makes Darryan one amazing kid!
