“It’s so sad when kids don’t have a passion, because I’ve found mine,” Skyler Shah shares. Her passion is dance, and she chooses to make everything revolve around that passion. In fact, she maintains a 4.0 as a sophomore at Parkview Baptist School, so that she can continue her time-consuming dance schedule. Her mother confirms that “dancing is the love of her soul.”

Skyler can be found most evenings dancing her heart out at her beloved Revolution Dance Company studio where she even takes extra classes. She enjoys every facet of dance: practice, workshops, and competition, and her favorite genre is ballet. “If she could forego everything and dance 24 hours a day, she would,” her mother says.

When Skyler’s not dancing, she loves hanging out with her friends, shopping, and going to the movies. Dance isn’t her only sport either. Skyler utilizes her athletic ability on the school track team as well.

The future is full of possibility for this goal-oriented young woman. Her strong work ethic will take her far. She is working toward a scholarship for a dance program where she will continue to flourish and mature as a dancer. Her plans are also to travel the world, starting with a big trip to either Iceland or Scotland for her graduation.

Passion and dedication are clearly working for Skyler, and that is why she is one amazing kid.
