Third grader Caleb Darensbourg has tasted a little bit of T.V. stardom this football season by being highlighted in an NFL Color Rush commercial. The nine-year-old football player flexed and posed like a true natural. He felt at home in front of the camera and shared with his mom that he’d “like to do more stuff like that.”
Until he finds his next starring role, Caleb will continue being excellent in his academics and his favorite sports. Succeeding at a high level in the gifted program at Bernard Terrace Elementary, Caleb consistently makes straight As and enjoys reading everything he can. He is also currently writing and illustrating a book about the daily life of a little boy, a subject he knows very well.
Not only is Caleb committed in the classroom, but he also gives his all on the football field, the basketball court, the soccer pitch, and the baseball diamond. He plays sports year round, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. His mom would like for him to pick one, but he just can’t choose which one he likes the most.
Family time is also important for Caleb, who enjoys cracking jokes and having fun with those he loves. He’s a great big brother to his little sister, and they get along most of the time, according to his mother. Though he can be shy when he first meets someone, he becomes outgoing once he steps out of his shell. Caleb has a heart for everyone, and makes it a point to reach out and include the loner in the room.
Caleb’s big personality and big heart only add to his gifts and talents, which make him one amazing kid.
