Louisiana families have something to look forward to this holiday season as personal injury attorney Gordon McKernan brings back his annual Gordon Gives Bike Giveaway, donating 600 bicycles and helmets to children across the state.
The beloved holiday tradition, which began in Baton Rouge more than a decade ago with just 94 bikes, has grown into a statewide effort. This year, for the first time, the giveaway expands to include New Orleans, following the opening of McKernan’s new Metairie office. Other participating cities include Lafayette, Lake Charles, Alexandria, Shreveport, Monroe, Baton Rouge, and Hammond.
Families can register beginning November 10 at gordongives.com. Registration closes December 1 for Lafayette, Lake Charles, Alexandria, Shreveport, and Monroe, and December 7 for Hammond, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans. Winners will be selected at random and notified by email or phone. Each child will also receive a helmet donated by local physicians. Pickup details, including location, date, and time, are available on the registration page.
For McKernan, the giveaway is more than an act of generosity—it’s personal. Inspired by his own childhood memory of receiving a red bicycle for Christmas, he says he’s honored to share that same joy with kids across Louisiana.
“That Christmas morning when I got my first bike is a moment I’ll never forget,” McKernan says. “It’s a privilege to give that same excitement to children across the state.”
The Gordon Gives Bike Giveaway is one of several community initiatives supported by Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys, which has offices throughout Louisiana. For questions or more information, call (225) 888-8888 or visit getgordon.com.
