Halloween is just around the corner, and parents are starting to plan their little ghouls’ and goblins’ trick-or-treat adventures. To help families make the most of the spooky night, here’s a handy guide to trick-or-treating times across Baton Rouge and surrounding parishes this year.

In East Baton Rouge Parish, festivities run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on October 31. Over in West Baton Rouge Parish, children can start their rounds a little earlier, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Meanwhile, Ascension Parish neighborhoods will also celebrate from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., as will Assumption, Iberville, and Livingston Parishes. Pointe Coupee Parish will host trick-or-treating from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Please note that all times are subject to change, so always check ahead. We will keep this guide as updated as possible.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, consider these important tips: Plan your route ahead of time and stick to familiar, well-lit areas. Make sure your children are easy to spot by choosing bright or reflective costumes and adding glow sticks or flashlights. Always inspect candy at home, discarding any unwrapped or suspicious treats, and be especially cautious if your child has food allergies. Encourage kids to stay on sidewalks and cross streets safely, avoiding shortcuts through yards or dark areas. Finally, the buddy system is key! Trick-or-treating with a friend or trusted adult is safer and more fun.

With a little planning and a focus on safety, families across Baton Rouge and nearby parishes can enjoy a memorable Halloween full of candy, costumes, and community fun.
