Episcopal strives to educate the whole child, which prepares them to meet the challenge of rigorous academic standards while also developing spiritually, gaining a deeper appreciation for the arts and competing in inclusive sports. The strong sense of community that defines Episcopal is reflected in the cooperative effort of teachers, staff, students, parents, alumni and friends working together to create an environment that supports the comprehensive development of students.

Early Childhood

At Episcopal, Early Childhood is more than preparation for school-it’s the joyful beginning of a lifelong journey. In a nurturing environment rooted in purpose and possibility, children are celebrated and supported in every aspect of their growth: intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and social. Confident learners begin with strong emotional skills. Social-emotional learning (SEL) is woven throughout our program, grounded in cooperation, assertiveness, responsibility, empathy, and self-control. Building healthy relationships and a strong sense of self. At Episcopal, play is powerful. Students tinker in the Design Studio, explore the PreK garden and Coach Dupe Nature Trail, and create in the QUEST Kitchen. Thoughtfully designed spaces awaken wonder, build friendships, and inspire curiosity. Learning comes to life through three phases of project-based learning: Wonder & Engage, Investigate & Create, and Share & Reflect. Where children explore meaningful questions, collaborate, and connect learning to the real world. Our academic foundation is intentional and developmentally appropriate. Students learn mathematics through the Singapore Math Developing Roots curriculum, develop a love of literacy through storytelling, phonics play, and small-group guided reading, and grow as writers through the PreK Story Workshop and Kindergarten Writing Workshop. Fine motor skills and early writing readiness are supported through Handwriting Without Tears. Students also participate in world language, physical education, visual and performing arts, library, and religion.
