Everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive.
That’s why Capital Area United Way mobilizes the caring power of neighbors, businesses, and community partners to lead transformational change in our local communities.

From strengthening local resilience to advancing health, youth opportunity, and financial security, we’re working towards a future where everyone can reach their true potential.

Our mission is to improve lives by leveraging partnerships in our community to advance the common good through education access, economic mobility, and healthy living.

Capital Area United Way’s work prioritizes the ALICE population. ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. The ALICE population is comprised of working residents that are struggling to make ends meet, have little or no savings, and are one emergency away from falling into poverty.
The ALICE population includes every race, age, gender, and ethnicity and works in a variety of professions across our community.
Visit CAUW.org/ALICE for our 2024 updated ALICE report for Louisiana.
