Dr. Shay W. Corbin
Medical Spine, Spine & Sports

Providing patients with the best, proper care; bringing the best technology available to the area; and being the best at what he does has always been Dr. Shay W. Corbin’s mission as a Cox Technic-certified chiropractor and certified chiropractic sports physician.

Dr. Shay Corbin has been practicing in Louisiana since 2001 and has been at his clinic’s current location since 2010. As a multidisciplinary practitioner, Dr. Shay Corbin has combined various aspects of care through Medical Spine, Spine & Sports. One of the most unique services they provide is the Cox Technic, a gentle approach to treating spines, including the ability to accommodate pregnant women for treatment up to 39 weeks.

Named after its developer, James M. Cox DC DACBR, whom Dr. Shay Corbin has studied with for the past 18 years, the Cox Technic is a gentle adjustment of the spine that can alleviate pain in the neck, arm, back, and leg. Along with this, they also provide Myofascial release techniques such as ART and Graston, Stabilization and Rehabilitation exercise therapy, Electrotherapy, Hot/Cold Therapy, and the AspenClass IV (warm) Laser therapy.

The Aspen Laser is a new piece of technology and is the most powerful laser on the market, and it’s available right here in Baton Rouge. The Laser helps treat chronic and acute injuries, as well as chronic pain and nerve pain. “It’s really an advancement in technology because over the past 20 years, we’ve only been able to get 2 ½ centimeters deep into tissues with therapies, and with the Laser, we are able to go 6 centimeters, which is amazing,” says Dr. Shay Corbin.

Whichever service you may need at Medical Spine, Spine & Sports, Dr. Shay Corbin will work closely with you to customize a care routine that works for you and your needs.
