Everyone needs a little help sometimes, and the Baton Rouge area offers a lot of options for academic assistance. We’ve gathered information about tutors, homework help, test prep and other resources to help you have a smooth school year.

Homework Help

Ascension Parish Library (APL)
Online learning resources from APL for test prep, language learning, and skill building. 

East Baton Rouge Parish Library (EBRPL)
For help in subjects including geography, languages, math and science, the EBRPL Kids’ Homework Help page provides a range of resources. 

Homework Louisiana
Free online academic tutoring, test prep and resources provided by the State Library of Louisiana. Some services offered in Spanish and Vietnamese. 

Livingston Parish Library (LPL)
LPL offers access to databases and tools for homework help, test prep, and skill development. 


Ascension Public School System
Providing parent resources for Pre-K and Kindergarten students. 

Foundation for East Baton Rouge (EBR) School System
Supporting the EBR School System, the Foundation provides resources for science, technology, engineering, and math career research. 

Livingston Parish Public Schools (LPPS) Family Resource Center
A lending library open to parents of LPPS, the center’s goal is to provide resources and assist families with children’s educational needs. Provides educational materials, ACT prep materials and special needs information.

Test Prep

ACT Preparatory Academy
A collaboration from LSU, Southern University, and 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge since 2006, the ACT Prep Academy has since expanded to include Baton Rouge Community College.
